Mr.
Härtel
Mr. Härtel has been a professional musician for almost twenty years,
performing as a vocalist, bassist, and guitarist in the Connecticut
area. He is also on the faculty of Manchester Community College,
where he directs the Madrigal Ensemble. Mr. Härtel has
been a music teacher for twelve years in various districts throughout
the state, at all levels from pre-kindergarten through high school. He
received his Bachelor of Arts in Music degree, as well as a Master's
Degree in Choral Conducting from the University of Connecticut, where
he studied under Peter Bagley, Paul Phillips, Jeffrey Renshaw and
Constance DeFotis.
Mr.
Härtel owns Barefoot Studios, a recording studio in Berlin
specializing in local artists and small ensembles. He is also an avid
supporter of alternative energy technologies. His home is
partially powered by solar energy, and he drives a hybrid car. In his
spare time, he enjoys greenhouse gardening.
Mr.
Härtel has three children in the Berlin public school system, and is
married to Michelle.
